Just where am I looking out towards? Basically, you're looking out South towards Barbers Point, of what was formerly the Barbers Point Naval Air Station in West Oahu. It is now no longer a naval air station, but is still home to the US Coast Guard's air fleet serving the entire Pacific region. The airfield is also used by commercial aircraft on a limited basis, as the airport, John Rodgers Field, is the secondary airport for the island of Oahu. Note there are no commuter flights to this airport.

Please note that divx 4.0 or above is required for the video viewing! Divx allows for smaller webcam video file size compression, much better than mpeg or wmv, which is ideal for internet file sharing.

Best Views
In my opinion, the best webcam views occur during around sunfall which is around 6:30 to 7:15pm. Try to see a live webcam image around then, as the colors of the setting sun impose a great color shift upon the scenery.

First thunderstorms of the year arrived, with a low pressure system developing next to the islands. This indicates winter season is in full force now. |
